SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Presentation:  Common Terns:  New Staging Site Identified in the Cheasapeake Bay\nSpeaker: BEN SPRINGER\, SMAS Vice-President \nBefore migration\, seabirds like Sterna hirundo (Common Tern) congregate at sites referred to as staging areas\, where flocks rest and feed to fuel their long-distance flights. In 2021\, a previously unknown staging area for Common Terns at the confluence of the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay was identified\, prompting an effort to resight banded birds and understand the relative importance of this staging area. \nThe Zoom link to join the meeting will be emailed to our Osprey email list prior to the talk.
