A joint SMAS and Atlantic Kayak Company event

If you missed our August trip at Mallows Bay, you have another chance to go birding by kayak with Gabi—this time at Mattawoman Creek. This is a habitat you should not miss. You can get up close and personal with many bird species who flit and fly around this meandering creek and along the edges of the riparian forest. Numerous Bald Eagles nest here, and it is a great location for waterfowl and forest interior–dwelling species. Bring your own binoculars, field guide, drinking water, and a sense of adventure. Gabi is a Master Naturalist, SMAS board member, and employee of Atlantic Kayak Company.
