These amazing insects migrate up to 2,000 miles between their wintering grounds in Mexico and their breeding grounds in the United States and Canada. But over the last twenty years, the eastern population has suffered an 80 percent decline. Learn what is being done, and what you can do, to help them.

Mike is a naturalist and co-chairman of Cobb Island’s annual Monarch Mania butterfly festival. He has been tagging Monarchs as part of a community science project during the fall migration for more than ten years.
