Trouble on the Half Shell

Speaker: Kerry Wixted, Amphibian & Reptile and Invasive Species Program Manager, Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies.

Turtles serve many roles in our ecosystems and cultures, but many species are in decline. Learn some basic turtle biology as well as information about a few species found in Maryland, their reasons for decline, and how you can help turtles thrive in the wild. Kerry Wixted is a Maryland naturalist with over 15 years’ experience studying flora and fauna of Maryland. She is currently Amphibian & Reptile and Invasive Species Program Manager with the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies.
